Join us on an extraordinary e-mountain bike tour, a journey that blends sport, culture, and history as we explore the alleyways and historical monuments of Livorno. Our adventure begins along the enchanting Via del Limone, famous for its ancient 16th-century aqueduct. From there, we’ll venture onto a dirt path leading us to Villa Corridi, an elegant historic residence owned by the Corridi family since the mid-19th century. After exploring its interior, we’ll take a dirt road that runs alongside the Rio Popogna, guiding us towards the picturesque “Tre Ponti” area, directly overlooking the sea.
Continuing along the seafront, we’ll head towards the center of Livorno. On our way, we’ll discover some of the city’s most emblematic sites: the Naval Academy, Terrazza Mascagni, Scoglio della Regina, and the Quattro Mori monument. Then, we’ll enter the heart of the old Venezia district, renowned for its canals and bridges reminiscent of the Venetian city. Our journey will take us to discover the two Medici fortresses, the Old and the New, until we reach the Central Market, or “Mercato delle Vettovaglie”, a true paradise of gastronomy and a symbol of Livorno, inaugurated in 1893. Here, we’ll take a break for a tasting of local specialties.
Keep on going, we’ll follow a bike path that passes in front of the Cisternone, a monumental water reservoir built in the first half of the 19th century, still partially in operation. Moving on, we’ll arrive at the train station, located near the Terme del Corallo, once one of the most refined thermal baths in Italy and Europe, now undergoing restoration after years of neglect. After two more kilometers, we’ll conclude our journey exactly where it began.
